School Referendum Voters Turn in Mixed Results

A $17 million Goshen Community Schools measure passed. Three others, including a bus service proposal for the Muncie Community School Corp., were defeated. Measures in the School City of Mishawaka and Michigan City Area Schools were also voted down.
The Star Press reports Muncie school leaders says without the more than $3 million that would've been provided by the referendum, the district will not be able to fund bus service during the next school year.
The Elkhart Truth says the money approved in Goshen will help pay for a new pool, expanded music and cafeteria space and other building improvements.
Our partners at Fox28 in South Bend say the $28 million referendum in Mishawaka was outvoted by approximately a 2-1 margin and would have paid for technology such as district-wide wifi and security enhancements.
