Virginia-based Cigital Inc. says the Indiana city beat out 15 others about two years ago to land a key Midwest operation. The company already had offices in high-tech hotspots including Boston and Silicon Valley and wanted to add a strong Midwest presence. During an interview on Inside INdiana Business Television, Chief Technology Officer Gary McGraw says the search reached from Austin, Texas to Ann Arbor, Michigan and Bloomington was “number one, far and away.” He says he wrote the first book on this type of security software in 2001 and the space is growing at a rate of 20 percent annually.
The company's list of clients includes Bank of America Corp. (NYSE: BAC), International Business Machines Corp. (NYSE: IBM) and JPMorgan Chase & Co. (NYSE: JPM).
Cigital also has offices in places including India, England, The Netherlands, New York and Chicago.
