Whiting's annual Pierogi Festival will be featured by a national search engine. Our partners at The Times of Northwest Indiana report Yahoo.com's online show “Blue Ribbon Hunter” is planning to be in the city next weekend to produce a short piece on the event. Last week, the Pierogi Fest was named to TripAdvisor's list of 10 “wacky summer events” in the country.

Organizers say it brings around 275,000 people to the area for the annual event.

Cast members from the TruTV show “Hardcore Pawn: Chicago” are expected to take part in the parade.
