TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – Mike Langellier, president and CEO of Indiana’s TechPoint technology growth initiative, will speak to Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology students, faculty and staff members on Tuesday, July 16, in this summer’s James R. Baumgardt Distinguished Speaker Series at Rose-Hulman Ventures.

Langellier is an entrepreneur and software executive who co-founded MyJibe, a personal finance and banking software company, and a former director of account management for Experian, the leading global information services company. He is also a board member of the Governor Robert J. Orr Entrepreneurial Fellowship program.

At TechPoint, Langellier has focused the statewide organization on such initiatives as thought leadership and educational programming, attracting and investing capital in technology startups, and addressing workforce challenges.

The James R. Baumgardt Distinguished Speaker Series recognizes the career accomplishments of the 1970 Rose-Hulman chemical engineering alumnus. Baumgardt is the chairman of the board for the NICO Corporation, is director of Neochord Inc. and is a partner of Twilight Ventures, an Indiana-based life science venture capital enterprise. He is the former executive director of business development at Eli Lilly and Company, served as president of the Guidant Foundation, was president of Guidant Sales Corporation, is the former director of Laserscope and helped co-found Suros Surgical Systems.

Baumgardt is also an emeritus member of the Rose-Hulman Board of Trustees and former chairman of the trustees' Rose-Hulman Ventures Affairs Committee. He received an honorary doctorate in engineering from Rose-Hulman in 2010, and serves on the advisory boards of Butler University's School of Business and Purdue University's School of Biomedical Engineering.
