The state budget committee has approved some multi-million dollar requests for projects throughout the state. Approvals include more than $63 million for upgrades to Ivy Tech Community College campuses in Anderson, Bloomington and Indianapolis. The Star Press in Muncie reports Ball State University's $6 million in requests for a new planetarium and a new greenhouse were accepted.

A major housing initiative at Indiana State University will have to wait as the Tribune-Star in Terre Haute reports a more than $33 million dollar request by the school to lease a proposed downtown housing complex has been postponed.

WLFI-TV reports more than $21 million in funding for the lease and sublease of a planned new softball stadium at Purdue University received approval from the group.
