The recent merger of two Ivy Tech Community College districts is leading to the elimination of some administrative positions. The South Bend Tribune reports six positions are affected by the decision. The community college is combining its north central and northwest regions. The north central region included the South Bend, Elkhart County and Warsaw campuses.

The vice chancellor for student affairs, executive director of facilities and executive director of marketing and communications positions are being eliminated.

The northwest region campuses include Gary, Valparaiso, East Chicago and Michigan City.

The cuts in that area include the executive director of the corporate college, vice chancellor for student affairs and executive director of marketing and communications.

The newspaper reports the changes will take effect July 15.
