INDIANAPOLIS -

The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development  has released its Fiscal Year 2018 Continuum of Care Competition Homeless Assistance Award data.  The report shows that HUD gave nearly $23 million dollars to support organizations dedicated to stopping homelessness in Indy.

HUD’s Continuum of Care Program was announced earlier this year and is designed to promote the goal of ending homelessness. The program works with nonprofit organizations to rehouse homeless individuals and families while minimizing the trauma and dislocation caused to homeless individuals, families and communities. The project also has a focus on groups that foster self-sustainability and resources following homelessness.
