Indiana Programs to Receive Millions in HUD Funding

Subscribe NowThe U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development has awarded nearly $2 billion to support homeless assistance programs across the country. HUD’s Continuum of Care grants will support 5,800 local programs, with Indiana set to receive over $18 million to fund 82 initiatives.
“Over the past year local agencies in Indiana have worked diligently to end homelessness resulting in a 19% reduction in homelessness across the state since 2010,” said HUD Midwest Regional Administrator Joseph P. Galvan. “By renewing funding to local projects, we expect to see this progress continue and are here to support agencies in their tireless efforts to end homelessness as we know it.”
HUD’s 2018 Annual Homeless Assessment Report found that 552,830 people experienced homelessness on a single night in 2018, an increase of 0.3 percent over 2017. HUD also reports number of families with children experiencing homelessness declined 2.7 percent since 2017. Click here for a full list of Indiana programs receiving funding.
