(NYSE: KRO) will Thursday celebrate the opening of its new store in Greenwood. The company has invested more than $22 million into the 100,000 square-foot store, as part of its $465 million expansion and renovation plan throughout the state.
The new store features a Starbucks kiosk, a "Little Clinic" and will also have ClickList online shopping available later this month. Katie Wolfram, president of Kroger Central Division, says the grocery, pharmacy and fuel markets are very competitive in Indiana and very important to the company.
"Our success allows us to make a half billion dollar investment that, when complete, will add 4,000 jobs across central Indiana," said Wolfram. "The expansion will allow us to continue providing quality products, competitive prices and outstanding customer service, while being a supportive community partner."
Last week, Kroger opened its new store in Fishers and last month, the company detailed plans for a new $22 million store in LaPorte.
