Franciscan St. Elizabeth Health will break ground Monday on the new emergency room at its Crawfordsville campus. The health system says the $10.4 million, 14,000 square-foot facility will include two designated OB/GYN rooms and an ambulance garage.

The new emergency room is part of a previously-announced $15 million overall expansion of the hospital. The health system estimated the emergency room would be complete in December with the overall expansion complete in April 2017.

Franciscan St. Elizabeth Health – Crawfordsville recently completed its new cardiac rehab department and new digital radiology suite. Last year, the hospital touted the expansion of its telemedicine capabilities, including its telestroke program.

The ground breaking ceremony is scheduled for 11:00 a.m.
