Brookville is a tiny town along the Whitewater River in southeastern Indiana. It is home to the Valley House, an architectural gem built nine years before the Civil War. The Valley House was once Indiana’s longest running hotel until it was abandoned and stood vacant for 35 years. The building recently underwent a $12M restoration, becoming the first completed Opportunity Zone project in the state. Around INdiana Reporter Mary-Rachel Redman has the story from Franklin County.
