Two Hoosier organizations are working to help those living on the fringe of society contribute to the economy in unique ways. DeMotte-based Gold Standard Truss has developed a plan to build a manufacturing facility inside the grounds of the Westville Correctional Facility in LaPorte County. And Indianapolis-based nonprofit Purposeful Design is helping many find meaningful work by creating hand-crafted, high-end custom furniture.
