White House to Honor Hoosier Scientists

The award is the highest honor bestowed by the U.S. government to researchers starting their independent careers who show exceptional promise for leadership in science and technology.
The honorees will be presented with the award July 25 during a ceremony at the White House.
The Presidential Early Career Award for Scientists and Engineers honors the contributions scientists and engineers have made to the advancement of science, technology, engineering and mathematics education and to the community through scientific leadership, public education and community outreach.
The award winners are:

- Rebecca Kramer, Purdue University, National Aeronautics and Space Administration
- Mary Murphy, Indiana University, National Science Foundation
- Megan Thielges, Indiana University – Bloomington, National Science Foundation
- Pinar Zorlutuna, University of Notre Dame, National Science Foundation
