Indiana-based companies are producing a variety of meats and fixins such as mustard and pickles. In last month’s Trendiana segment on Inside INdiana Business with Gerry Dick, Yelp Midwest Regional Director Brittany Smith featured some Hoosier businesses people can look to in order to change up their summer grilling menu.
Smith said Hoosiers are increasingly looking for more artisanal products and branching out to try new things. "So it’s not just your average hot dog anymore."
One of the most popular local vendors is Smoking Goose in Indianapolis, which Smith says offers a variety of sausage products including duck pear pork sausage and octopus sausage. Smith also highlights Roanoke-based Best Boy & Co., which makes condiments including mustards, spice blends and even dessert toppings.
