Indy to Host National League of Cities Meeting

Subscribe NowIndianapolis will host nearly 300 mayors, councilmembers and other local leaders from across the country for the National League of Cities 2019 Summer Board & Leadership Meeting. NLC and state officials will Tuesday hold a press conference to discuss issues the meeting will focus on and how local communities can get involved.
The NLC says it advocates for local priorities including investing in infrastructure, finding solutions to the housing crisis and strengthening local economies, bringing these issues to the attention of Congress and the administration.
Leaders who will comment at the press conference, which takes place at 10:30 a.m. on the west side of Statehouse, include:
- Mayor Joe Hogsett, Indianapolis, Indiana
- Mayor Denny Spinner, Huntingburg, Indiana (AIM President)
- Mayor Karen Freeman-Wilson, Gary, Indiana (NLC President)
- Clarence E. Anthony, CEO and Executive Director, National League of Cities
