Rook Security Acquired by Sophos
Carmel-based Rook Security has been acquired by Sophos, a security software and hardware company headquartered in Massachusetts. Financial details of the transaction were not disclosed.
The company will welcome Rook founder and chief executive officer J.J. Thompson, and the rest of his team, to join Sophos and will integrate Rook products with its current offerings.
Rook Security offers a 24/7 team of “cyberthreat hunters” that respond to cybersecurity incidents.
Sophos says its MDR services will combine Rook Security’s threat detection and response capabilities with its DarkBytes technology platform and Intercept X Advanced with EDR product.
“Rook Security provides managed detection and response services to detect and eliminate cyber threats. Through threat hunting and data analytics, Rook Security’s experts rapidly detect and mitigate active attacks,” said Thompson in a news release. “We are excited to bring our experts and service delivery innovation to Sophos, a global leader in next-generation cybersecurity. Together, we can implement faster, more effective threat detection and response capabilities to better protect businesses.”
