Ivy Tech and University of Virginia Ink Transfer Partnership

INDIANAPOLIS -

Ivy Tech Community College and University of Virginia have announced a new partnership. The agreement allows Ivy Tech students who complete the Liberal Arts Associate in Arts or Associate in Science program to continue on with an online Bachelor of Interdisciplinary Studies through the University of Virginia.

“The UVA and Ivy Tech Community College articulation agreement offers a designated pathway for Ivy Tech graduates to earn an online degree from one of the nation’s top public universities,” said Damon Wade, associate dean for student services and enrollment at the UVA School of Continuing and Professional Studies, in a news release. 

Ivy Tech students that meet the requirements would transfer to UVA as third-year students and complete 60 credits to earn the online BIS degree.

      Ethanol Plant to Stop Production, POET Blames EPA

      Ethanol production at an Indiana biofuels plant will be stopped and the owner blames Environmental Protection Agency policies and the oil refining industry. South Dakota-based POET Energy announced the plant in Cloverdale will be placed in “idle production” within several weeks, though no date has been set. The ethanol producer says 100’s of local jobs will be impacted, but the news release did not specifically mention “layoffs” at this point.
