INDIANAPOLIS -

Over $900,000 in grants have been given to organizations from the IU Health Community Outreach and Engagement department's 2018 Community Grants. The grants were administered to institutions who have prioritized access to healthcare, behavioral health and substance abuse, community revitalization and nutrition. 

The 2018 community grants were awarded based on areas of priority determined by the 2015 Community Health Needs Assessment. 

“IU Health is pleased to award these grants to support the communities in which we serve and partner with organizations to make Indiana a healthier state,” said Joyce Hertko, director of IU Health Community Outreach and Engagement. “We are grateful for this opportunity to take the IU Health mission outside of the hospital walls, and be a part of solving some of the state’s largest health challenges.”

The Community Outreach and Engagement department will unveil 2018’s Community Health Needs Assessment and priority areas early next year to direct grants made through 2021.
