Indiana Military Hall to Enshrine Class of 2018

The Indiana Military Veterans Hall of Fame is getting 21 new members. The class of 2018 will be enshrined Friday evening during a ceremony at the National Guard Armory in Lawrence. Inductees include Pulitzer Prize-winning World War II correspondent Ernie Pyle, former Adjutant General of Indiana Major General R. Martin Umbarger and long-time Lafayette attorney Joe Bumbleburg.

The organization, which was launched five years ago, cut the ribbon in April on a new building at Fort Benjamin Harrison in Marion County.

      Haan Crafts LLC says it will close its facility in Benton County, resulting in 27 layoffs. The more than 40-year-old company says a growing number of schools cutting sewing classes has made it impossible to sustain "a profitable, stand-alone business."
