INDIANAPOLIS -

As Indianapolis International Airport marks the tenth anniversary of its new terminal, officials are touting a facility that has exceeded expectations.  “A great city and a great region deserves a great entrance and it has a great entrance with this airport,” said Airport Authority Executive Director Mario Rodriguez.  Rodriguez says the airport’s design and attention to customer service have enabled it to be named Best Airport in North America seven times.  “Ten years ago, the airport didn’t have Wi-Fi,” said Rodriguez.  “Now arguably, it has the fastest Wi-Fi at any airport in the United States.”

In an interview for this weekend’s edition of Inside INdiana Business with Gerry Dick, Rodriguez talked about what’s next, including efforts to land more nonstop flights.

Indianapolis International Airport was the first major airport in the United States to be designed and opened in the post-9/11 era. Rodriguez credits that fact with enabling “a platform to continue to build and give more and more comforts as a customer,” including the newest in security scanning technology, reducing wait times to clear security.

Airport officials estimate that 22,600 jobs in the Indianapolis region have a connection to IND, injecting a $2 billion payroll into the economy each year. The overall economic impact of the airport is pegged at $5.4 billion annually.

    • Market Caps: What's in Your Portfolio?

Investors understand the importance of having a proper balance of large-, mid-, and small-cap companies in their stock portfolios. Unfortunately, there are no strict rules followed by index funds when categorizing by company size. When you "check under the hood" of your portfolio, you may discover you’re taking more (or less) risk than you intended! What Is Market Cap? Market capitalization, or market cap, is a term used to represent the size of a company.
