Rose-Hulman Names Interim Director

Camille Wallace has been named interim director of diversity and inclusion at Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology. She has been a member of the institute staff since 2013. Wallace will lead a variety of programs for the institute’s Center for Diversity and Inclusion that enhance a campus culture in which members are valued, respected and have a sense of belonging.

She came to Rose-Hulman in 2013 as a special events manager and planned giving assistant in the Office of Institutional Advancement. A year later, Wallace became a training and development manager in the Office of Professional and Organizational Development.

In 2017, Rose-Hulman was recognized as a Champion of Learning by the Association for Talent Development for providing a culture of employee professional development and continuous learning. Many of those programs were shaped by her.

Wallace has experience as a program coordinator for the annual Indiana Black Expo and Indiana State University’s African American Cultural Center, and she helped facilitate Rose-Hulman’s annual Martin Luther King Jr. Day Workshop and Student LEADership Academy.

Wallace also founded the Terre Haute Cultural Professionals Connection and BeYoutiful Leaders Consulting organization, both in 2016. She has two academic degrees from ISU: a master’s in human resource development and a bachelor’s in political science and legal studies. Wallace has professional certifications in leadership coaching from Harvard University’s Division of Continuing Education.

      U.S. Steel Cuts Jobs, Low Price Imports Partially to Blame

      Pittsburgh-based U.S. Steel has announced it will idle its tin mill operations in East Chicago, affecting nearly 300 workers, half of which will lose their jobs.       Virginia-based Nestlé USA says only 40 employees will be laid off at the company's Fort Wayne distribution center. A spokesperson for Nestlé tells Inside INdiana Business a WARN Notice filed with the state incorrectly stated the facility would close at the end of the year, affecting nearly 70 workers.
