Visually Impaired Preschool Services has promoted Meredith Howell to regional director. She replaces Annie Hughes who retires from VIPS at the end of August. She will be responsible for overseeing the development and expansion of the VIPS Indiana office.

Howell previously served as assistant director and was instrumental in advocating at the Statehouse to expand early intervention services for babies and toddlers with blindness/low vision. She brings a unique perspective to the position as she is the mother of a young child who is legally blind and was served by the agency. Howell is also founder of the tactile art exhibition for the visually impaired, reVISION.

She holds a B.A. degree in Interpersonal Communications and Journalism from Western Michigan University.
