Mitch Black, who most recently served as CEO of Bloomington-based Author Solutions LLC, has been named president and chief operating officer. The company, which advises customers on how to sell their products through the Amazon marketplace, currently employs nearly 60 and is planning to expand to a staff of 250 by 2021.
In an interview with Inside INdiana Business, Gauss said Viral Launch is on "the precipice" of a major phase of scaling up. "Growing from 11 employees to 20 employees wasn’t nearly as difficult," he said. "We are ready for growth and now we’re putting the systems and processes and resources in terms of human capital in place to make sure we do that pretty well and even potentially accelerate that growth — hopefully, accelerate that growth."
Gauss says the company is almost doubling revenue every five-six months and Black will complement his own skills and provide experience that the 25-year-old hasn’t yet gained. Prior to leading Author Solutions, Black served as president of Indianapolis-based MOBI for five years. His previous experience also includes positions with Ingram Micro, then called BrightPoint, as well as PCS Wireless and Verizon Wireless.
