Jeremy Slater has been named director of the 450-acre Discovery Park District at Purdue University. The innovation and live, work and play hub is expected to attract more than $1 billion in investment over the course of 30 years.

Slater, a Purdue graduate, has served as associate director of the district’s development and was previously a project manager for the Purdue Research Foundation. His experience also includes time as a project manager for Schneider Corp. in West Lafayette and Indianapolis-based American Structurepoint Inc. before that.

Slater says "I’m fortunate to have been involved with this development from the start, so I am excited to be able to oversee the giant leaps that will be taking part in the Discovery Park District in the coming months and years. The district will become a gateway not only for our community but for intellectual discourse as students, faculty and staff interact with commercial partners in an area that will feature modern and innovative living, learning, shopping, dining, and recreation."

The first building of what’s expected to be a total 7 million square-feet of interior space in the park is already underway: the $86 million Aspire development. You can connect to more about the Discovery Park District by clicking here.
