ODON and WEST LAFAYETTE -

Two cybersecurity courses will be provided by Purdue Polytechnic Institute beginning in the summer at WestGate@Crane Technology Park. The courses are the first certifications in the CareerMakers series at Purdue@WestGate.

NSWC Crane officials determined through focus groups that security training is one of their largest needs. "Our cybersecurity degree program is growing in popularity, and we are pleased to be able to offer workshops and certifications such as these at key locations across Indiana," said Gary Bertoline, dean of the Purdue Polytechnic Institute.  "This program is another component in our effort to create learning environments that are better aligned for the digital age."

The first course offered is Certified Ethical Hacking, which is a six-day on-site workshop that runs in August. The second course is Certified Information Systems Security Professional, which is also a six-day class that is devised to prepare participants to guide information security programs. Registration begins Monday, April 16, with 20 openings available for each workshop. Each course is open to the public, defense industry or Crane employees.
