The chamber says it is looking to identify partners willing to help any minority group start and operate a business within the county.
The announcement followed a discussion earlier this month among leaders from throughout the county on how to improve the community, specifically for minority small business owners and entrepreneurs. The discussion included details of a program at Grace College that helps educate and train Spanish-speaking people who want to start a business.
"Those in attendance agreed that, in order for our economy to thrive, we need everyone working together to attract and retain talent," the chamber said in a news release. "Without a healthy and diverse workforce, we put ourselves at risk from losing industry and business, which would hurt all of us financially."
The chamber says, in addition to the task force, Warsaw-based OrthoWorx will continue with its Diversity and Inclusion Committee that is "actively working on taking steps to ensure out community is welcoming to everyone."
