Brownsburg Parks Promotes Blake Assistant Director

Posted: Updated:

Brownsburg Parks has promoted Jonathan Blake to assistant director of operations and development. He previously served as senior planner for the town’s Development Services Department. In that role, Blake focused on a variety of key initiatives, including the development of the town’s Geographic Information System. He played an important role in transportation improvement planning and funding, land use and redevelopment planning, and organizational process/procedure improvement.

In 2014, Blake assembled and led a team of community leaders and public officials representing multiple agencies to form the Hendricks County Mapping and Geographic Information Partnership. The group’s charge was to organize, develop and implement a county-wide geospatial platform that would lead to improved efficiencies and effectiveness in local government.

Blake began his career with the town of Brownsburg in 2003 as a laborer at the Water Department. In 2007, he took on the role of planning technician for the Development Services Department; he was named senior planner in 2014. Blake has served on the town of Brownsburg’s Advisory Plan Commission and two terms on its Redevelopment Commission (including one year as president).
