Disaster Assistance OKed For Michiana

ELKHART COUNTY, LAPORTE COUNTY, ST. JOSEPH COUNTY -

Farmers in three Indiana counties are eligible to receive natural disaster assistance from the U.S. Department of Agriculture. Elkhart, LaPorte and St. Joseph counties are included in a declaration also involving 16 adjoining Michigan counties.

The designation dates back to frost and freeze events that caused crop loss and damages between March 14 and May 20. Producers in the Michigan and Indiana counties can apply for Farm Service Agency emergency loans to help offset losses. You can connect to more about the declaration by clicking here.
