The organization says the funds will be used to expand its HIV Services program in 2018.
Aspire says the program currently provides HIV care coordination, testing and prevention services in more than 30 Indiana counties. One of the new services that will be made available with the grant funding is CLEAR Counseling, which aims to help people change risky behaviors in order to reduce HIV infection and transmission rates.
"The needs of this population are complex and we are grateful to the state of Indiana for giving us the resources to better meet the demands of assisting individuals, families, and communities affected by HIV," said Julie Foltz, HIV services director for Aspire.
Aspire’s HIV Services staff are located at the organization’s offices in Lafayette, Muncie, Anderson and Richmond. A portion of the funds will also be used to renovate and expand the organization’s Hoak Building in Anderson.
