Indianapolis-based Canvas, the first enterprise-grade text-based interviewing platform, has hired Zach Linder as vice president of analytics and machine learning. He has led analytics and automation initiatives at several high-growth companies, most recently as vice president and head of US operations at Virtusa, previously Apparatus.

Linder will oversee Canvas’ machine learning and analytics functions as the company continues to gain momentum with recruiters nationwide. Canvas’ advanced technology creates a space for valuable conversation with high-quality candidates while reducing time to fill open job positions. Machine learning algorithms make recommendations to recruiters as to which questions to ask and information to send next based on the candidate’s answers.

Among numerous accomplishments at Apparatus and Virtusa, Linder conceived, designed and built an industry-leading automation and business intelligence practice, while presiding over employees located across the world. He was a key player during the 2015 sale of Apparatus to Virtusa for $34.2 million.

Linder’s resume boasts leadership positions at ExactTarget (now Salesforce Marketing Cloud), ChaCha Search Inc., DePuy Orthopaedics Inc. (a Johnson & Johnson Company) and Outer Communications.
