Indianapolis Public Schools has named Ahmed Young chief of staff, which includes serving as general counsel for the district. He will also manage issues related to risk management, IPS Police, student and assignment, human resources and research, accountability and evaluation. Young most recently served as director of the Office of Education Innovation for the city of Indianapolis.

He earned his B.S. in Secondary Education from Indiana University and his Doctor of Jurisprudence degree from the Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law. Young taught for seven years in Indianapolis and in New York City schools. Upon returning to Indianapolis and completing law school, he served as a deputy prosecuting attorney for the Marion County Prosecutor’s Office. Additionally, Young practiced law at the firm of Bose McKinney & Evans LLP specializing in litigation and education issues, while also serving as second vice president focusing on government affairs with Bose Public Affairs Group.
