Holcomb Makes Board Appointments

Governor Eric Holcomb has made more appointments to various boards and commissions. They include the Indiana War Memorials Commission, Port of Indiana Commission and Parole Board.

The appointments include:

Code Revision Commission

• Allison Karns (Carmel) will join the commission. Her term expires August 31, 2019.

Indiana War Memorials Commission

• J. Michael Davisson (Salem) will continue his service on the commission. His new term expires September 30, 2020.

Interstate Oil & Gas Compact Commission

• Russell L. Retherford (Evansville) will join the commission. He serves at the pleasure of the Governor.

Little Calumet River Basin Development Commission

• Derek A. Nimetz (Valparaiso) will join the commission. His term expires August 31, 2021.

Port of Indiana Commission

• Michael G. Browning (Indianapolis) will join the commission.  His term expires September 30, 2021.

• Monica Newhouse-Rodriguez (Carmel) will join the commission.  Her term expires September 30, 2021.

Parole Board

• Thor Miller (Indianapolis) will continue his service on the board. His new term expires September 30, 2021.

• Jim Shaffer (Indianapolis) will join the board. His term expires September 30, 2021.

      U.S. Steel Cuts Jobs, Low Price Imports Partially to Blame

      Pittsburgh-based U.S. Steel has announced it will idle its tin mill operations in East Chicago, affecting nearly 300 workers, half of which will lose their jobs.       City of Bloomington Promotes Schaich

      The city of Bloomington has promoted Lucy Schaich to volunteer network coordinator, a program of the Community and Family Resources Department.  She served as assistant coordinator from 2000 until 2018, when she became the volunteer network’s interim director. Schaich is a graduate of Indiana University.
