The Evansville Courier & Press reports the developer of the new Holiday Inn Express expects to break ground later this year or early next year.
The project received approval from the Vanderburgh County Commissioners in August 2016. However, Star Group President Mohan Reddyreddy tells the publication utility-related issues pushed the project back.
"Our plan was to break ground later this year, and it still looks as of now like we’re going to make it, but I’m not sure about weather conditions in Evansville," said Reddyreddy. "If the ground is too hard, we’ll wait until spring."
Reddyreddy tells the Courier & Press he has already invested $1 million into the project and expects to see it to fruition.
