McGinnis, McGraw Heading to Basketball Hall

Subscribe NowAn Indiana high school, college and professional basketball great and the head coach of the Notre Dame Fighting Irish for the last 30 years will Friday enter the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame. George McGinnis and Muffet McGraw are among 11 inductees this year.
McGinnis was the 1969 Indiana Mr. Basketball at Washington High School in Indianapolis, a 1970-71 All American in his only college season at Indiana University and helped lead the Indiana Pacers to back-to-back ABA Championships in 1972 and 1973. He will join former Indiana Pacers Reggie Miller, Mel Daniels, Roger Brown, Slick Leonard and George McGinnis who were all inducted between 2012 and 2014.
McGraw came to Notre Dame in 1987 after five years as head coach at Lehigh University. She has more than 800 wins as a coach, a feat only four college coaches can claim. McGraw guided the Fighting Irish to the 2001 National Championship over Purdue. Her teams in South Bend have made 24 trips to the NCAA Tournament, including 15 NCAA Sweet Sixteens, eight NCAA Elite Eights and seven NCAA Final Fours.
