EVANSVILLE -

Tropicana Evansville General Manager John Chaszar will Tuesday announce the grand opening date of the entertainment venue's land-based gaming location. For more than 20 years, the casino has been on a riverboat and in 2015, the city and Las Vegas-based owners Tropicana Entertainment Inc. detailed $50 million plans to move it off the water.

The casino is part of a $212 million entertainment complex along the Ohio River in Evansville's downtown. Other parts of the property include a more than 240-room hotel, a 95-room boutique hotel, conference and restaurant space and a large parking garage. Encompass Develop, Design and Construct is the project manager and previously worked with customers including Churchill Downs Inc., Pinnacle Entertainment and Caesars Entertainment.

The project received an incentive package that includes about $20 million in rent credits. Its contract is set through 2055.
