Wooden McLaughlin has hired Elizabeth Schmitt (pictured) and Timothy McKay (pictured) as associates. Schmitt is a litigator focused on resolving business disputes, insurance coverage, insurance defense and other civil litigation matters. Before joining Wooden McLaughlin, she gained experience in insurance defense matters from initial filings through trial. Prior to that Schmitt served as a judicial clerk at the Indiana Court of Appeals. She received her undergraduate degree from DePauw University. 

McKay represents finance companies and private developers in commercial lending transactions, acquisitions, and development of commercial and multi-family properties. He received his undergraduate degree from Xavier University and graduated from the Indiana University McKinney School of Law. 

Also, the firm has added James Carter as an associate. He practices in the areas of real estate, business and eminent domain litigation. Carter is a graduate of Indiana University and the Robert H. McKinney School of Law. In law school, he was a member of the Indiana Law Review Executive Board and served as senior executive editor and, he previously he served as a note candidate.

David Baker has joined the firm as information technology manager. He previously served as manager of infrastructure and support services at MainGate Inc. Baker has been employed in other technology capacities for more than 20 years.

Another addition to the administrative staff, Jill Vandegriff as business development & marketing manager. She previously served as director of marketing & communications for Indianapolis Opera and prior to that maintained a consultancy serving professional service and not-for-profit organizations.
