Holiday World and Splashin' Safari in Santa Claus have received more national recognition. Splashin' Safari has been named the "Best Outdoor Water Park" by the readers of USA Today, while Holiday World is ranked fourth on the "Best Amusement Park" list.

Splashin' Safari was chosen among 20 nominees for the USA Today 10Best list. The park beat others, including Lost Island Waterpark in Iowa and Dollywood's Splash Country in Tennessee. The full list includes:

  1. Splashin' Safari - Santa Claus, Ind.
  2. Lost Island Waterpark - Waterloo, Iowa
  3. Hurricane Harbor - Atlanta
  4. Carolina Harbor - Charlotte
  5. Noah's Ark - Wisconsin Dells, Wis.
  6. Schlitterbahn - New Braunfels, Texas
  7. Water World - Denver
  8. Dollywood’s Splash Country - Pigeon Forge, Tenn.
  9. Knott's Soak City - Buena Park, Calif.
  10. LEGOLAND Florida Water Park - Winter Haven, Fla.

Holiday World is ranked as the fourth best amusement park in the U.S. Cedar Point in Ohio, Six Flags Magic Mountain in California and Dollywood in Tennessee make up the top three. The full list includes:

  2. Six Flags Magic Mountain - Valencia, Calif.
  3. Dollywood - Pigeon Forge, Tenn.
  4. Holiday World - Santa Claus, Ind.
