Franciscan Drops Out of Joint Ventures
Lafayette-based Unity Healthcare has announced it has repurchased Mishawaka-based Franciscan Health’s ownership interest in two joint ventures. Unity says "changes in the regulatory and healthcare environment" led to the company taking sole ownership of the Unity Surgical Center and InnerVision Imaging Center.
Both facilities are located in Lafayette and, in a joint statement, Unity President John Gorup and Franciscan Health Western Indiana Chief Executive Officer Terry Wilson, say the ownership transition will be seamless for patients and staff.
"Unity and Franciscan Health are proud of the services they have provided over many years through the Unity Surgical Center and InnerVision," the statement said. "These partnerships have allowed Unity and Franciscan Health to invest in the Greater Lafayette communities through the recruitment of high quality clinical talent and the deployment of state of the art facilities and technology to provide excellent healthcare to our patients."
The companies say they will continue to collaborate on other initiatives, including the Franciscan Health Trauma program.
