The Indiana University Board of Trustees has approved designs for projects on the main campus and IU Southeast in New Albany. The largest is for a Regional Academic Health Center and Academic Health Sciences building in Bloomington. It will be located next to the State Road 45 and SR 46 bypass. Details of the facility’s architecture will be unveiled at a later time.

Vice President for Capital Planning and Facilities Thomas Morrison says "this site provides wonderful opportunities to expand upon the natural setting with gardens, landscaped parking and other features that will enhance the experience for all who study, work and receive care here," Morrison said. "The design takes advantage of the existing topography to incorporate the facility without losing the trees and rolling landscape that make this site unique."

Site design plans were unveiled for improvements to the Eskenazi Museum of Art. Museum Director David Brenneman says "our renovation will enable us to add more learning spaces, employ new technologies for the study and appreciation of works of art, and better display our excellent permanent collection. All of these upgrades will make us an even more effective teaching institution, a model university art museum of the 21st century for Indiana University and for the people of the state of Indiana."

The new housing lodge designs at IU Southeast will be two-stories and "substantially" model the existing 87-bed, 24-unit Meadow Lodge. The building will be the sixth student housing lodge on campus.
