Mainstreet Adds to Team

Carmel-based Mainstreet has named Jeff Key vice president of business development. Most recently, he served as vice president of the US healthcare systems team at The Medicines Co. Key earned a bachelor’s degree from Western Kentucky University and completed the Program for Pharmaceutical and Biotech Executives at The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. He currently holds a position on the Western Kentucky University National Alumni Board of Directors. The firm has also named Scott Roberts director of strategic projects, business development. He previously served as manager of strategy and product development at TriMedx. Roberts also spent time at Franciscan St. Francis Health. He holds a bachelor's degree from Indiana State University and earned his master's from Indiana Wesleyan University. Roberts received an executive certificate in leadership from the University of Notre Dame and was the recipient of the 2008 Tony and Mary Hulman Healthcare Achievement Award in Preventive Medicine. He is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives, Indiana Healthcare Executive Network and the Murat Shrine – Shriners Hospitals for Children.

    • Hope is Not a Plan

      This is sobering. A local business broker in Indianapolis reports nine out of 10 business owners who want to sell are turned away. Of the one in 10 that does make it past the first analysis to sell, over half of those company owners don’t get the sale price they hope for or believe the business is worth. Bottom line, hope is not a plan if you want to sell your business.

    • State Revenues Continue Higher in September

      Indiana revenue in September exceeded projections by nearly six percent, coming in at $1.7 billion. The Indiana State Budget Agency reports General Revenue funds last month were 5.6 percent above projections in April and 6.3 percent higher than September 2018 revenue.

      United Way Names New Board Members

      United Way of Central Indiana has elected Lauren Petersen (pictured) and Johna Norton (pictured) its newest board members. Petersen currently serves as TechPoint’s senior director of relationship management. She graduated summa cum laude from Ball State University in 2011 where she earned a bachelor’s degree in urban planning and development. Norton serves senior vice president, Global Quality for Eli Lilly and Co.

      Sun King Brewery to Offer 'Lobstah & Chowdah'

      Indianapolis-based Sun King Brewery has chosen a food partner for its new Broad Ripple location and it should appeal to people who enjoy New England seafood.  The brewery is teaming up with FK Restaurant Group LLC of Indianapolis, which will offer a new restaurant concept called Offshore.
