The final long-term closure related to the Downtown Crossing portion of the $2.3 billion Ohio River Bridges Project is complete. Crews have reopened the ramp from I-65 South to I-64 West in southeast Indiana, making the John F. Kennedy Memorial Bridge fully open to six lanes of southbound traffic.

The ramp, which had been used by around 5,500 drivers daily, had been closed since December 2015. Crews built a new ramp during the closure. Five lanes of traffic on the Kennedy Bridge were reopened last month.

The Downtown Crossing also includes the new, adjacent Abraham Lincoln Bridge, which will carry six lanes of I-65 North traffic. The entire Downtown Crossing is expected to be complete next month.
