Trine Ups Capital Campaign
Trine University in Angola is expanding fundraising efforts. The Invest in Excellence Capital Campaign, which launched in 2009, has been increased from its original goal of $75 million to $125 million.
The university has raised more than $83 million to date. Trine says the expansion seeks to raise $30 million for operations and annual scholarships, $20 million for the university endowment and $75 million for capital projects, such as the new Thunder Ice Arena and MTI Center and an expansion of Fawick Hall, which houses the Allen School of Engineering and Technology.
"The Invest in Excellence campaign already has allowed us to add several beautiful new facilities to our campus without having to incur any additional debt," said Trine President Earl Brooks. "It has helped us significantly enhance our scholarship support and enhance our academic programs through endowment support. The expansion of this campaign will let us continue to provide for growth in our enrollment and programs, all while continuing to manage our finances responsibly."
The university says the campaign has contributed to completed projects including the T. Furth Center for the Performing Arts and the renovation of Ford Hall for the Ketner School of Business. One project, an expansion of the Best Hall of Science, is underway and expected to be complete by January.
