Dig IN’s annual Taste of Indiana will feature dozens of restaurants, breweries and wineries partnering with chefs and farmers to create a variety of prepared dishes and beverages. Executive Director Thom England tells Inside INdiana Business if each Hoosier spent just $1.87 on local food per week, it would make a $1.5 billion impact on the state.
He says producers would not have to grow anything new to create that kind of impact, saying, "We’re already growing that much and throwing that much away."
Dig IN: Taste of Indiana 2016 is scheduled for Sunday, August 28 from 12:00-4:00 p.m. at Military Park in Indianapolis. This is the seventh year for the event. New participants for this year include Revery of Greenwood, Ted’s Market of Fort Wayne, the S’more Mobile of Columbus and Vida and Plat 99 of Indianapolis.
