This year’s Indiana class of Woodrow Wilson MBA Fellows in Education Leadership have been announced. The program originally involved students at the University of Indianapolis and has grown this year to include Indiana State University and Indiana University.

The program involves preparing educators to be future school administration leaders through a full-year, executive-style MBA program. Indiana is one of three states with educators in the Woodrow Wilson MBA Fellowship in Education Leadership initiative. Wisconsin and New Mexico are the others.

The organization says the program is designed to develop leaders who will create innovation-driven cultures, expand the use of analytics and evidence-based practices, raise student performance to international levels and boost school system quality and teaching over time. Current educators are nominated by their district or charter school. Participants receive the training after committing to serve in previously-identified districts or schools for at least three years.

The program is supported in Indiana by the Indianapolis-based Lilly Endowment Inc. More than 60 will take part this year. It’s separate from the Woodrow Wilson Indiana Teaching Fellowship, which is offered by Ball State University, IUPUI, Purdue University, UIndy and Valparaiso University.
