Tech Company Moving to Downtown IndyPosted: Updated:
An information security company headquartered on the north side of Indianapolis is adding to the growing list of tech companies relocating to the city's downtown. Pondurance LLC, will take up nearly 11,000 square feet of space that was previously used by Harrison College.
The company says it is investing in the renovation of the office space to build a new security operations center, conference room and additional rooms to house an expanding work force. Pondurance was one of 17 companies that unveiled expansion plans in December, saying it would add 65 jobs by 2023.
"The new location represents an exciting time for the entire Pondurance team," said Landon Lewis, co-founder of Pondurance. "The firm’s rapidly growing reputation in the Midwest, as well as increased demands for infosec skills in the marketplace, make our expansion a natural fit."
Pondurance did not disclose an investment total for the move and renovation.
The company joins other tech companies, such as Salesforce and Appirio who have located in downtown Indy. Indiana Economic Development Corp. President Jim Schellinger says Indiana continues to stand out as the best place for tech companies to do business.
"Tech jobs in central Indiana today are growing nearly three times faster than the national average, and that’s because of our state’s skilled workforce," said Schellinger. "Leaders at companies like Pondurance tell us that they’re choosing to locate new jobs in Indiana because Hoosiers working in tech sector are knowledgeable, dedicated and hardworking."
Pondurance says the move to downtown Indianapolis will allow the company to expand its operations to a round-the-clock service model.
