Purdue Research Park Certified Fiber Ready
The Purdue Research Park of Southeast Indiana has been certified as AT&T Fiber Ready. It is only the fourth site in Indiana to receive the certification for its high-speed Internet connectivity.
AT&T Indiana President Bill Soards said the certification will help local businesses drive job creation. New Albany Mayor Jeff Gahan said the certification can help spur economic development.
"When we’re talking about the ‘infrastructure of today,’ we’re talking about this kind of high-speed Internet access," said Gahan. "We need folks to know that not only does New Albany have a tremendous workforce, but also the latest technologies. We’re excited to tout this new designation to companies looking to locate or expand here."
Dan Hasler, president and chief entrepreneurial officer of the Purdue Research Foundation, said the organization knows the importance of a strong technology infrastructure. "When we opened the Purdue Technology Center in 2009 it already had a strong fiber connectivity. Becoming officially certified and adding AT&T to our list of fiber connectivity options will make the site even more attractive to potential prospects looking for a top-level location to create and grow their businesses."
