Tavis Smiley to Give DePauw Commencement Address

Smiley has hosted The Tavis Smiley Show on public radio since 2001 and his television show on PBS since 2004. He has written 18 books and was listed on TIME magazine’s "The World’s 100 Most Influential People."
Also receiving an honorary doctorate during the commencement program will be DePauw graduate Douglas Hallward-Driemeier, who presented arguments before the U.S. Supreme Court in favor of same-sex marriage last year. He was named a Rhodes Scholar during his senior year at DePauw.
The commencement ceremony will be held May 22 at 10:30 a.m. in Holton Memorial Quadrangle on DePauw’s campus. Click here for more information.
