Former Speak Easy Executive Director Denver Hutt is being remembered as an "extraordinary person" by business and community leaders. On Thursday, friends, family and colleagues will celebrate her life at a gathering at the Indianapolis collaboration space. The Indiana University graduate passed away over the weekend at the age of 28 after a battle with cancer. Hutt led the Speak Easy for three years before taking a leadership role with the Metropolitan Indianapolis Board of Realtors.

Hutt led the Speak Easy in the Broad Ripple neighborhood from March 2012-August 2015. The organization aims to serve as "a place for education, conversation and manufactured serendipity, with a mission to cultivate the healthiest entrepreneurial ecosystem, anywhere." She went on to serve as MIBOR's Economic and Community Development Liaison.

Hutt's career also included stints as facilitator and event organizer for Startup Weekend, events and outreach coordinator for Indy Hub and multiple roles with Indianapolis-based marketing firm Stringcan.
