Fort Wayne Looks to Boost Retail

The city says a recent analysis found demand for as many as 120 new retail shops and restaurants in the area.

Indigo Centers, based in Birmingham, Michigan, specializes in retail recruitment, leasing, brokerage, property management and investment sales. Its contract with the Community Development Commission runs for seven months at a cost of $5,000 per month, with the possibility of extending the deal through the end of 2016. The company will create a targeted list of potential retail partners and represent Fort Wayne at two International Council of Shopping Centers conventions.
Mayor Tom Henry says there are opportunities for growth in south Fort Wayne, and believes the new contract will help "move our city forward in the right direction."
