Hometown Collaboration Initiative Semi-Finalists Announced

Subscribe NowThe Indiana Office of Community and Rural Affairs has named six semifinalists for its statewide Hometown Collaboration Initiative. Lieutenant Governor Sue Ellspermann, who serves as the state’s Secretary of Rural Development, says the program helps communities "come together to develop a strong local vision for their future."
OCRA says the principle of HCI is "broad-based input and buy-in is vital to the long-term success and sustainability of all community development initiatives."
The program involves initiatives such as leadership development, improving the small businesses and entrepreneurship environment and enhancing natural and physical community assets.
Semi-finalists are:
- City of Auburn
- City of Greenfield
- Town of Hamilton
- Orange County
- Spencer County
- Vermillion County
Ellspermann says "I am confident that participating in HCI will help attract and retain both businesses and residents and strengthen the fabric of the local community. Thanks to each of the semi-finalist teams for their collaborative efforts to ensure our cities and towns are poised for prosperity now and in the future."
The next steps include site visits next month and a two-hour session to detail how the program will be beneficial in the long-term. Finalists will be named early next month.
